Overview
Messiah University’s Master of Education with a degree track in Elementary Education prepares individuals with a bachelor’s degree in an area other than education to pursue a career as a teacher and to sit for the PA Level I teaching certification examination. Students will learn to design developmentally appropriate learning experiences, assessments, classroom management systems and how to effectively collaborate with parents and other educational professionals.
Students who are able to secure a full-time or long-term substitute teaching position while pursuing their teaching certification may apply for the Pennsylvania intern certification program.
