Overview

Through the online delivery of advanced skill concepts, the Executive MPA program by Texas Southern University (TSU) prepares mid-career professionals to lead and manage organizations as public servants.

Teaching Methods

The program is delivered primarily online, with the possible exception of an orientation meeting once or twice a semester.
The program is administered through the Blackboard Academic Suites and Course Compass e-learning software.

These platforms include live chats, online lectures, virtual classrooms and teleconferencing capabilities.

Texas Southern University (TSU) Executive Masters of Public Administration program studied abroad in Ghana and Benin. While studying abroad the students visited historic landmarks, museums, and attended lectures held by Dr. Michael Williams of the Aya Centre and others

Skills

Upon completion of the EMPA program, graduates will:

Demonstrate a balance inventory of conceptual, quantitative and professional skills.
Demonstrate the ability to utilize information technology and systems for effective decision-making and communications.
Demonstrate the ability to utilize problem solving strategies and analytical competencies relevant to management positions.
Demonstrate a greater appreciation for workplace diversity, ethical issues facing the public sector today, and the challenges of the global institutions.
