Overview
University of Arkansas students can choose courses from six academic colleges in two or more subject areas to complete this degree. They can choose a thesis option or a non-thesis option, the latter of which requires a comprehensive examination.
The primary and secondary focus areas for a student in the Interdisciplinary Studies master’s program could be drawn from most of the master’s degrees offered online, such as
- adult and lifelong learning,
- construction management,
- educational technology,
- and food safety, among many others.
Students can also take courses from any of the online graduate certificates including applied behavior analysis, engineering management, enterprise systems, homeland security and special education transition services. Offerings can be combined in many unique ways to build a degree customized to the student’s interests and career goals.
The degree will serve students seeking to return to the university to complete their graduate degrees after an absence. This group consists of non-traditional working professionals, which the program serves by allowing them to combine prior graduate coursework completed in person on the Fayetteville campus or at other accredited institutions subject to transfer requirements with online offerings in a variety of areas.
