Overview
The Middle Grades Education degree at University of North Carolina at Pembroke is designed for currently licensed teachers who want to grow their skills and make a bigger impact in the classroom.
If you already hold an initial North Carolina teaching license in middle grades, this program helps you take the next step—both professionally and academically. Completion of the MAEd leads to master’s-level North Carolina licensure in your content area.
You’ll deepen your understanding of how young adolescents grow and learn, build stronger teaching strategies and explore new ways to engage your students.
As part of the program, you’ll choose a focus area in Language Arts, Math, Science or Social Studies and complete 21 credit hours in that subject. Whether your goal is to lead in your school, shape curriculum or become a more effective educator, this program will help you get there.
