Overview
The Master of Public Service and Administration Anderson University (South Carolina) will instill the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to lead and manage effectively in government organizations at the federal, state, and local level, as well as related non-profit organizations. The Master of Public Administration core courses will prepare students to be leaders, managers, and analysts in public service.
Core courses develop the foundational skills public administrators need to develop effective public policy, apply public policy to address society needs, be good stewards of public resources and budgets, and conduct research that supports evidence-based policy development.
Learning Outcomes
Upon degree completion students will learn and demonstrate:
- Demonstrate applied management, leadership, communication, and analytical skills needed by managers and leaders in the executive arm of local, state, and federal government.
- Analyze, synthesize, think critically, solve problems, and make evidence-based decisions in complex and dynamic environments.
- Articulate, apply, and advance public service principles through a clear understanding of the roles, development, and principles of public administration.
- Participate and the management of public policy processes and executive-legislative relations.

General requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of higher learning
- Cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Three letters of recommendation. One of the recommendation letters must be from the pastor/minister of the local church where the applicant is currently a member; if the applicant is the pastor, then the letter may come from another leader within the church
- Submit statement of faith and description of church involvement
- $40 application fee
- Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper), 220 (computer) or 75 (internet) if English is not the student’s first language, and proof of current Visa for International students
