The Master of Taxation (MTax) Direct program at The University of Akron is a professional degree in the College of Business Administration (CBA) School of Accountancy. It provides intensive training for individuals planning to enter the field, and for experienced accountants and attorneys.

- Admission to MTax Direct requires an undergraduate degree in accounting or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. If you lack either degree, you may become eligible for admission by successfully completing two foundation courses online:
- Financial Accounting (6200:601) and
- Federal Taxation (6200:627) or Business Entity Taxation (6200:531)
- two letters of recommendation
