Overview

The Master of Science in Reading Education online degree program at Jackson State University is an accelerated degree program with courses offered in eight-week sessions. This academic program prepares candidates to initiate methods of action research while utilizing technology to collect and analyze data extracted from both formal and informal assessments. Candidates will gain insight on utilizing individual and collective data to guide differentiate instruction. The course content will provide expertise in diagnosing causes of reading deficiencies and prescribing developmentally appropriate methods and materials to optimize student success. A total of 30 graduate credit hours are required to earn a Master of Science in Reading Education.
