The program Performance Pedagogy offered by Loyola Marymount University will develop existing professional experience and knowledge with individually-tailored courses in acting theory, pedagogy, directing, design, theater history, and dramatic literature leading to a terminal master’s degree.

The MFAPP at LMU consists of classes offered in the late afternoons and evenings, designed to prepare the professional actor to teach, direct and mentor theatre students.
Hands-on teaching opportunities are also an important part of the program as you develop your skills.

Bachelors degree from a 4-year university or college. An undergraduate major in theatre arts or related discipline is expected but not required.
One official copy of your college transcripts.
Two letters of recommendation.
Current resume.
A statement discussing why you are applying for the MFA Program in Pedagogy and what your goals are in regard to engaging in and completing this program.
GRE scores are not required, but are strongly recommended.

Work experience

The applicant must have at least 5 years of professional theatre or film/tv experience. AEA and/or SAG membership is greatly encouraged.
