Overview
A major objective of this program is to prepare graduates to enter a variety of employment settings and to render care to a wide spectrum of individuals engaged in physical activity. The technical standards set forth by the MSAT program establish the essential qualities considered necessary for students admitted to this program to achieve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an entry-level certified athletic trainer, as well as meet the expectations for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education
Clinical Experiences
The Athletic Training Program at Rowan University has always had a very strong clinical perspective. In the clinical setting, students have an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in didactic and laboratory coursework. Students will spend time in Rowan University Athletic Training Clinics under the supervision of Rowan athletic training faculty and staff. The Rowan University Athletic Department sponsors 10 varsity sports for women and 8 for men. There are two athletic training clinica on campus. The Esby facility is open year round and the Team House facility located in the John Green Team House which is open in the fall and in the late spring.

- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- 50 Hours of Athletic Training Clinical Observation Hours. Students must complete all observation hours within an Athletic Training Clinic and have hours certified by a Licensed Athletic Trainer in order to be considered for acceptance to the Athletic Training Program.
- Interview (Applicants will be contacted directly by the Faculty Admission Committee regarding the interview. The interview can be in person or via telephone.)
