Overview
Medical Sciences from Creighton University is ideal for students looking to fill a gap year, as it can lead to the next step in your career as a medical sciences teacher, further graduate study, or a career in a healthcare profession such as medicine or dentistry.
Key facts
In keeping with the Jesuit tradition of educating the whole person, the Master of Science in Medical Sciences program develops students as well-rounded individuals. You’ll be inspired to think critically about pressing topics, engage in conversations about research ethics and spark your creative inquiry. Research at Creighton is mission-driven, making your work part of a larger effort to serve others and create a more just world.
In the MS in Medical Sciences degree program, you’ll take courses in everything from human gross anatomy and neuroanatomy to pathology, surgery, radiology and embryology. Before working as a teaching assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to dissect the human body, attend autopsies and surgeries, and discuss critical scenarios with other students in your cohort.
True to Creighton’s dedication to Ignatian values and the School of Medicine’s mission, students in the medical sciences program learn to care for the whole person from a clinical and service standpoint. In addition to your coursework, you’ll take time to give back to the community through service projects with the local community.
Your professors will work closely with you—guiding your studies and acting as teachers, advisors and mentors throughout your degree and career. All our faculty members teach in the School of Medicine's health professional programs and collaborate and work with students long after they earn their degree.
