Overview
Based in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, the Historic Preservation Program is a collaboration of faculty from across the University--from the departments of American Studies, Anthropology, Architecture, History, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Studies and Planning, as well as the National Trust Library.
Key facts
The dual degree program in Historic Preservation and Real Estate Development at University of Maryland is a 60 credit program that can be completed, by taking courses full time over 5 semesters (2 1/2 years), including at least one winter and summer term course. While not preferred students may be admitted to the program on a part-time basis. Consult with the HISP Program Director.
The final project for the HISP portion of the degree will also have to meet the requirements for a Capstone Project in real estate development and should be discussed early on with each Program Director to be sure it will meet the requirements of both.
