Overview

The Construction Management from California State University Long Beach is a multi-disciplinary programme that requires completion of 30 units of graduate courses. Each student's programme must satisfy all requirements of the university, college, and department. During the first two weeks of the first semester as a graduate student at CSULB, the student should make an appointment to meet with the graduate coordinator, who will assign them to one of the construction management area faculty.

Learning Objectives

The Construction Management programme educational objectives are to produce graduates, who after entering the construction management practice with a knowledge of fundamental construction management principles and current technologies, communication skills and practical construction experience, will:

Provide substantial contributions to the construction industry.

Pursue life-long learning through continuing education and/or advanced degrees in construction management or other related fields.

Continue to develop professionally through participation in professional organizations and/or participation in professional development activities in the industry.

Progress towards professional certifications.

General requirements

An earned Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university in a construction related degree, with essential undergraduate prerequisites in construction management satisfied. Graduates of curricula outside this area may be required to satisfy programme prerequisites before full admission into the programme.

A GPA of 2.8 or above from upper-division classes.

Submit three (3) professional and/or academic letters of recommendation (Exception: This requirement is waived for applicants with a GPA greater than 3.0).
