Overview
Within this context, the Community Psychology program from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University incorporates an emphasis on Black psychology and mental health of populations of African descent and persons of color. Content courses and experiential exposures are provided to implement this multicultural orientation.
What you'll learn
Students will explore mental health issues in a multicultural context through this graduate degree, which involves an internship and either a thesis or research project.
Students enrolled in the Community Psychology Program are required to complete a minimum of 46 semester hours, including 34 hours of course work, an internship (one semester) and a research thesis (Thesis-track) or approved research project (Professional-track), in order to fulfill graduation requirements.

- A Graduate Application;
- A Residency Classification form;
- A $30.00 non-refundable application fee;
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education and have earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work taken while enrolled as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor’s degree;
- One official transcript (in a sealed envelope) from each college or university attended;
- Submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores or General Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores;
- Three letters of Recommendation;
- Résumé, essay, portfolio or other materials, if required by the program;
- A completed Certification of Financial Responsibility form;
- A completed Immunization form;
- Mandatory Health Insurance required for all International Students.
