Degree offerings

The Department of Chemistry from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University offers both a thesis and a non-thesis option leading to the Master of Science degree in Chemistry. The thesis option is designed to provide students with advanced course work and experience in chemical research. This option is desirable for students to engage in chemical research or continue graduate studies toward the Ph.D. degree.

General requirements

A Graduate Application;
A Residency Classification form;
A $30.00 non-refundable application fee;
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education and have earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work taken while enrolled as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor’s degree;
One official transcript (in a sealed envelope) from each college or university attended;
Submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores or General Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores;
Three letters of Recommendation;
Résumé, essay, portfolio or other materials, if required by the program;
A completed Certification of Financial Responsibility form;
A completed Immunization form;
Mandatory Health Insurance required for all International Students.
