What you'll learn

The biology department from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University offers degree programs for three specialty tracks, Biology - Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physiology, and Ecology. The information contained in this curriculum guide has been especially prepared for students who wish to obtain a MS degree in any of the three tracks.

The program offers a Thesis based degree with emphasis on development of research and a Non-thesis based degree with an emphasis on coursework. All students admitted into the program must declare the thesis or non-thesis option tract by the end of their first semester. A declaration form can be obtained from and submitted to the Biology Graduate Coordinator.

A Graduate Application;
A Residency Classification form;
A $30.00 non-refundable application fee;
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education and have earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work taken while enrolled as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor’s degree;
One official transcript (in a sealed envelope) from each college or university attended;
Submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores or General Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores;
Three letters of Recommendation;
Résumé, essay, portfolio or other materials, if required by the program;
A completed Certification of Financial Responsibility form;
A completed Immunization form;
Mandatory Health Insurance required for all International Students.
