Graduates with a master’s degree in the Hospitality and Tourism Management program from Oklahoma State University integrate skills and knowledge in the areas of beverage management, hotel operations, restaurant operations, tourism management and hospitality education and instruction to enhance their professional career.

Our multidisciplinary master’s degree prepares students for leadership with critical thinking skills and in-depth knowledge of hospitality theory and practice.

Research and Faculty

The school provides state-of-the-art facilities and technologies including a demonstration classroom, quick service and fine dining restaurants serving as laboratories for experiential learning, and a quantity food kitchen.

Faculty include highly respected researchers widely published in the industry’s leading academic journals. The program is home to the Center for Hospitality and Tourism Research, established in 2007 to link cutting edge research and the critical needs and demands of the hospitality and tourism industry.

General requirements

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale is required. In exceptional circumstances, students with a lower GPA may be admitted if there are other indications of ability to complete graduate-level work.
Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, CV, and a statement of purpose and goals, which support the applicant’s interest in the HTM master’s degree program.
Applicants for whom English is a second language are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of spoken English by submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score.
Applicants with a non-Business bachelor's degree may be required to take additional coursework.
A year of accumulative hospitality and tourism industry experience is preferred but not required. Applicants with no or limited industry experience may be required to take an internship.
