Students at the The University of Alabama in this program will learn the complexities of managing businesses and leading others in a culturally diverse environment. Graduates will have a broad knowledge of subjects that are key to effective Management and, depending on the focused area of study chosen, will build their expertise in strategic human resource management and analytics, new venture formation and innovation, or global leadership and management.
This flexible, online program is designed for supervisors, administrators, coordinators, managers, military personnel, and others who seek to advance their awareness of the impact of evolving opportunities in the workplace or who have developed the need for more advanced management skills in their current positions. All courses in the Global Business Management Concentration are offered online, while courses in the Human Resources Analytics and Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Growth Concentrations are offered in a blended format with some of the courses offered in the classroom and others online.
Each student who completes the master's program is expected to have a basic knowledge of the concepts, processes, and practices associated with the management of organizations. For someone with a non-business undergraduate degree and no work experience, this would include microeconomics, principles of accounting, production, management, and finance; or, having a minor in business.
