Overview
At Fordham, we call it the “MTA”— it combines the MBA in Public Accounting and the Master of Science in Taxation.
Accounting firms, financial institutions, and multinational corporations have expressed a strong demand for graduates with this degree. They specifically want to hire tax professionals with upper-management potential.
Fordham University Accounting and Taxation graduates are broadly educated future executives whose expertise in accounting and taxation allows them to analyze business issues with a higher degree of sophistication.
Features
The program has two components:
- Broad instruction in MBA-style general business principles and the common body of knowledge recommended by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
- Comprehensive education and technical expertise in the field of taxation
The MTA is an intensive program with selective enrollment. Students can come into this program with either a business or liberal arts undergraduate background. The program requires 99 credits, but students who studied business as undergraduates may find they are able to waive out of certain required courses and complete the dual degree faster.
