Overview
Speech-Language Pathology from Stony Brook University is offered in a traditional weekday format and there is a cohort model which fosters camaraderie among students. Students are required to complete pre-requisite coursework prior to their admission into the program. During a student’s didactic coursework, the student will have opportunities to observe and interact with patients diagnosed with a number of different diseases/disorders including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Aphasia, Cleft Palate, Autism, and Alzheimer’s Disease.

General requirements
- Students must have completed a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application to the program.
- Students must submit an official transcript(s) from all higher education institutions the student attended.
- Students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in undergraduate prerequisite courses or their equivalent
- Students must submit two recommendation letters.
- Students must complete an admission essay included within the CSDCAS application.
- Students must submit a resume and upload into the CSDCAS application.
- All applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (Qualitative, Quantitative and Writing) and scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
- If eligible, students must complete a successful interview with the SLP admissions committee.
