Overview
The Secondary Science Education (Grades 7-12) program from The City University of New York offers three options for those interested in a secondary science teacher certification program.
Stream A is an initial certification plus Master's degree program for teacher candidates who do not have certification or a Masters Degree. Stream B is a professional certification plus Master's degree program for teachers who already have an initial certificate. Stream C is for teacher candidates who already have a Masters Degree but no certification.

Stream A: Master of Arts Degree in Science Education, Initial Certification- This degree is intended for individuals with a background in science but without any certification or Masters degree.
This degree is primarily intended for teachers with an initial certification seeking a Masters degree and professional certification.
- This degree is primarily intended for individuals with a background in science interested in initial certification but not a Masters degree.
- This degree is intended for individuals with a background in science but without any certification or Masters Degree and want to be certified in the classroom as soon as possible. Candidates must be part of existing Transitional B programs such as New York City Teaching Fellows.
