Overview

The mission of the Applied Behavior Analysis offered at The City University of New York is to provide students with training: a) to work in a variety of fields with a variety of populations in need of behaviorally based interventions; b) that meets the educational competence requirements necessary to pursue becoming a licensed behavior analyst in New York State; c) that meets the educational competence requirements necessary to pursue professional certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board; d) that helps students contribute to and advance the field through conduct and participation in research as well as presentations; and e) that supports the possibility of continuing their education at the doctoral level.

Unique Opportunities at Queens College

At Queens College, we provide opportunities to gain experience working with a team of faculty who have expertise in the areas of autism, developmental disabilities, problem behavior, and parent and staff training:

A comprehensive curriculum that includes coursework in the applied, experimental, and practical application of behavior analysis, meets BACB and state standards.
Fellowship placements at Queens College through our new on-campus Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Evidence-Based Services (QC ACES), or across many different partnering agencies and school sites that allow you to gain hands-on supervised experience from Board Certified and Licensed Behavior Analysts.
Opportunities to conduct research and make conference presentations with guidance from experts in the field.

An undergraduate overall GPA greater than 3.00

At least 15 credits of undergraduate psychology courses including Experimental Psychology and Statistics or their equivalents.

At least one undergraduate class broadly related to ABA, such as learning, behavior modification, developmental disabilities, or behavior analysis.

GRE scores are no longer required for admission.

You will need to write a 500-word personal essay and submit 3 letters of recommendation, two of which should be from instructors.
