Overview
You see, we believe understanding the needs of diverse student populations—including first-generation students, underrepresented minorities, international students, those facing economic hardships, and more—will help you make a real difference in their education experience. That's why we designed a curriculum to give you specific leadership skills required in this field. In fact, we have two paths you can pursue to get there, depending on your career and academic goals. One of the best parts? Courses for both options are available online.
If you want to complete a thesis—ideal for those interested in research and eventually pursuing a doctoral degree—you'll complete 39 hours of coursework. That includes six hours of thesis research. Or, maybe you're already working in higher education, or you're ready to jump right into the field. If so, a non-thesis track, which is 36 hours of coursework, might be a better fit. You will complete a practicum course and then submit an experiential project. Whichever way you choose, our goal is to prepare you to make a real impact in higher education.
