Overview
About the Public Health program
Professionals who want to take their career to the next level can take advantage of online learning and customize their program to meet their unique interests and career objectives with our fully individualized curriculum option or our two focus areas, health equity or addictions.
At this moment in history, public health has gained wide recognition as the key discipline in improving and protecting the health of communities and populations. An MPH degree on your resume will get the attention of employers looking for well-trained professionals in the field or tell your current employer you’re ready to make a move to a more critical role.
The Public Health program of the University at Buffalo gives you a solid footing in foundational public health education with coursework and hands-on practice activities. It also allows you to tailor your program to emphasize your unique interests. Fascinated by the intersection of child health and the health care system? Health disparities and the environment? Health policy and technology? No matter what your interest, you can craft a course of study that will grow your expertise.
Since all program coursework is online, you can choose the schedule that meets your needs, working when and where it’s convenient for you. As important, the Online Individualized MPH program was created in 2018, well before the pandemic. It was designed from the ground up to be fully online and to offer rigorous courses and teaching methods based on the best practices for online instruction.
When the time comes for your CEPH-required field training, you can choose a site location anywhere that’s suitable for you.
