Overview

The M.Sc. Electrical Engineering at Ohio University's mission is to educate electrical engineering professionals to become leaders in industry, government, and university positions, who are committed to the highest standards of professional ethics, lifelong learning, and improving the human condition.

This program leads to a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Research in the areas of avionics and navigation, communications and signal processing, controls, computer engineering, autonomous vehicles, electromagnetics, opto- and nano-electronics, industrial controls, and analog and digital circuits.

Opportunities for Graduates

Students with a master’s degree in EE are generally given more responsibility than those with bachelor’s degrees in industrial and government laboratory settings. Master’s degree holders may supervise teams and manage projects, and may also work in research and development, along with or supervised by Ph.D. engineers. The master’s degree is also good preparation for those candidates interested in obtaining doctoral degrees.
