Learning outcomes
In 1955, Global Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China decided by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China via the Party’s Central Department of Publicity and the State Council’s Ministry of Higher Education, the Department of Journalism at RUC was established through the merger of the Department of Journalism at the then University of Yanjing and the Division of Journalism in the Department of Chinese at University of Beijing. This marked the beginning of formal education in journalism in the People’s Republic of China.
