Course Details

The Intelligence Studies program at American Public University provides an opportunity to develop the knowledge and build the analytical skills needed to be competitive in the U.S. intelligence community, as well as security and corporate environments.

Led by faculty with extensive experience in intelligence, homeland security, and the military, this online MA in Intelligence Studies explores vital topics, including counterintelligence, homeland security, weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, counterterrorism, international relations, national security, and geospatial intelligence. Concentrations allow you to further specialize your studies.

What You Will Do

Examine the evolution, structures, functions, capabilities, and activities of the national intelligence community from pre- and- post-9/11 perspectives
Understand the intelligence cycle, including planning, data collection and exploitation, intelligence analysis, production, and dissemination phases
Investigate the fundamental capabilities, limitations, and means of tasking human, geographic/imagery, signals, measurement, and technical and open intelligence data sources
Assess and predict traditional and non-traditional threats to national and international security

All APU master's degree/graduate certificate programs require a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA®).
Depending on your country of citizenship, you may be required to provide documentation of English proficiency
For degree programs, if you have earned college credits at a CHEA accredited institution or from a member university of Universities Canada , you will be required to submit our transfer credit evaluation (TCE) application when you apply.
If you have non-US transcripts, and you need to submit them for admission or for transfer credit, you will need to have them evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a university-approved agency.
