Overview
The Health Sciences program of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences builds on your bachelor’s degree and credentials as a health professional, so you can pursue or advance your career in academic health sciences.
This part-time program is offered entirely online, giving you the flexibility to continue to work, and can be completed in approximately two years. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from a rich variety of health professionals whose backgrounds offer a wide range of voices and perspectives for a truly diverse experience. When you graduate, you’ll be well prepared to promote excellence in teaching and learning, translate theory and novel strategies to the learning environment, expand the evidence base in health professions education, and link education, research, and practice in transforming systems of healthcare.
Career Prospects
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Analyze and appraise the health sciences discipline in the context of higher education, health professions, and teaching and learning;
- Design curricula incorporating applicable educational models and learning theories on higher education for healthcare programs;
- Examine and design tools for leadership of healthcare departments and/or health professions organizations;
- Evaluate and apply research theories and ethical practices critical to the application of advanced healthcare practice; and
- Demonstrate development of skills and expertise in health policy, health communication, and/or global health to advance healthcare.
