Overview
The Accounting programme from the University of Cincinnati curriculum provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the workplace once they graduate. Our faculty help students develop the tools utilized by top accounting firms as well as build comprehensive knowledge in core areas of business and how to best apply those frameworks to real-world challenges. In accounting and business graduate courses, you’ll learn:

- Strong communication and team-building skills
For students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, the Master of Science in Accounting programme requires a minimum of 30-54 credits. This is distributed among the following:
- 18 credits in accounting graduate courses
- 12 credits in accounting elective courses of your choice
Students with bachelor’s degrees in subjects other than accounting can also pursue the MS in Accounting by completing a few additional course requirements.
Career opportunities:
Programme requirements for the MS in Accounting satisfy the education requirements needed to sit for the CPA exam in the state of Ohio and most other states, and open doors to a variety of career paths in accounting.
Graduates of the MS in Accounting degree programme will be qualified for career opportunities in various public and corporate accounting settings. Our students have been hired by local, regional, national and international public accounting and manufacturing firms, retailers and more, in roles such as:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in public auditing
- Managerial or cost accountant
