Overview

Greenhouse and research facilities and equipment are extensive. Fieldwork may be performed in any of several experiment stations, farms, or research stations, as well as in a nearby primeval forest ecosystem, old field and ancient habitats. A seminar series of invited scientists provides rich opportunities for students during graduate study.

The faculty of the Plant Biology course at Rutgers University is composed of members from a wide variety of disciplines. The majority of faculty members are from the Department of Plant Biology at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.

Master's Degree - Courses: General Biology with laboratory (2 terms required), Two plant science courses (e.g. plant physiology, genetics, plant pathology, ecology or taxonomy), General Chemistry with laboratory (2 terms required), Organic Chemistry (1 term required, 2 recommended), One course in Calculus or Statistics, One course in Physics, Geology or Soils

OPTIONAL - The Graduate Record Examination (Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical/Writing Assessment).
