The demand for packaging engineers continues to rise in what has become a multi-billion dollar business and the world’s third largest industry. Today’s packaging engineers have backgrounds in mechanical, materials science, industrial, and chemical engineering. Rutgers School of Engineering offers one of the few packaging engineering programs in the nation, preparing next-generation talent across a wide array of industries.

The Packaging Engineering program of Rutgers University offers three areas of specialization, recognizing both the demands of the industry and employer need. Students have the opportunity to tailor their studies in the areas of materials, design, and application.
