The Civil Engineering offers students at the University of the District of Columbia the opportunity to develop a more fundamental and complete understanding of the principles that govern their field including current design methodology and technical knowledge and skills to research and develop new sustainable design solutions in the civil engineering field for the 21st century.

A bachelors degree in civil engineering is required for full admittance to the degree program. For those who hold an undergraduate degree in another engineering discipline or bachelor of science discipline upon admittance may be required to complete certain undergraduate background courses based on the student’s background and this prerequisite undergraduate coursework must be completed prior to beginning the graduate level civil engineering coursework.
