- Applicants also must submit a portfolio including pieces — scores and live recordings (when appropriate) — demonstrating a variety of contemporary techniques, form and instrumentation. Approval for admission to candidacy is contingent upon the candidate’s demonstrated ability to complete a final project in composition.
