Led by faculty and researchers working at the forefront of scientific discovery, the The Geosciences programme offered at The University of Arizona trains you for careers in research and education; energy and mineral resources; and environmental policy.

You'll have the opportunity to engage in active research projects with the department's partners at ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron and Freeport-McMoRan, among others. This two-year programme pairs its research focus with courses like Advanced Petrology and Chemical Evolution of Earth.

The Geosciences department focuses on research and education in the nature, genesis, and history of the Earth and its crust, and the evolution of the environment and biota at the Earth's surface.

The faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students are active in biogeochemistry; climate dynamics; geoarchaeology; geochemistry; geochronology; geomorphology; geophysics; mineral resources; mineralogy; paleolimnology; palynology; paleontology; petrology; sedimentology and stratigraphy; structure; tectonics and volcanology.
