Overview
Program Description
Upon completion of the program, students are eligible for the Class A Professional Early Childhood Education (P-3) certification, which is a requirement for those intending to work in grades PreK-3 in public elementary schools.
Early childhood educators make a profound impact on children’s lives. The first years of life create the foundation for a child’s health, emotional well being, and intellectual growth. Providing high-quality early care and education is critically important to enable children to learn and ensure that they reach their full potential. The Early Childhood Education program at the University of South Alabama is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of child development, childhood learning and teaching skills for young children ages four through eight.
