The Graduate Program in Psychometrics at Morgan State University is the only program of its kind at a Historically Black College or University.  It is currently ranked 7th of similar programs nation wide.

Psychometricians use their statistical and methodological expertise to design, develop, analyze, and interpret tests and assessments, and to evaluate programs and interventions.

The Graduate Program in Psychometrics of Morgan State University offers both an M.S. and a Ph.D. Our faculty members are committed to providing students with advanced training in quantitative measurement techniques and statistical analyses within the context of culturally diverse populations. 

With a focus on cultural responsiveness, the program places an emphasis on applied methodologies to train scholars to possess sophisticated analytic capabilities that can be used to design, assess, and utilize psychosocial and educational measures. Once they complete the program, graduates are qualified to enter a variety of careers including those in private industry, government, and academia.

  •  Evidence of either:
A Master's degree with a thesis or the equivalent thereof in Psychology, Mathematics, Education, or a related field, from a regionally accredited college or university; OR,A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 in all previous undergraduate and graduate work
  • A formal application to the School of Graduate Studies
  • An official copy of GRE scores that are not more than 5 years old by the date of application
  • Unofficial transcripts for all degrees earned and attempted (Students who are accepted to the program will be required to submit their official transcripts to the School of Graduate Studies for verification.)
  • Three academic letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample that has been authored solely by the applicant (no papers by multiple authors, please):
