Baltimore at a glance
Baltimore, the largest of its kind from Maryland and the largest independent city of the U.S.A. has a unique atmosphere. Being also home to the most public monuments per capita, Baltimore is also known as “Charm city”, “The city of firsts” or, as one of its mottos says, “The city that reads”. This city is famous for its second largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic area, the Inner Harbour, who attracts visitors and locals altogether. Besides its harbour-urban park, Baltimore has hundreds of districts with plenty of cultures, vibes and styles. From modern skyscrapers to picturesque brick buildings, Baltimore stands out in the United States of America. The rich culture of Baltimore is also visible from the large number of artists that lived there, such as writer Edgar Allan Poe, singer Billie Holiday, baseball player Babe Ruth, and composer Francis Scott Key, who wrote the national anthem of the U.S.A.
