Overview

The Public Administration program of Virginia Tech is available for full and part-time students and is offered on three campuses: Arlington, Blacksburg, and Richmond.

MPA graduates pursue their careers in public service in a wide range of organizations:

Full-time or part-time students are welcome!

Full-time students are able to complete the defree in two years. Part-time students myst enroll continuously in at least one course (3 credit hours) per semester. The length of the degree for part-time depends on the pace at which required coursework is completed.

For admission to the MPA program, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA

CPAP does not require students to take the GRE. We encourage students to take this test in order to give us a full picture of their potential

All non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. permanent residents demonstrate English proficiency to ensure they enter the university with sufficient English skills necessary to function in a graduate program

The only prerequisite for the MPA program is a C+ or better in a course on U.S. Government
