The Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner degree at Duke University develops nurse practitioners (NPs) to provide family-centered, equitable care for pediatric patients across the pediatric lifespan and developmental stages (newborn to age 25 years). Starting in 2025, graduates will also be prepared for dual certification in pediatric mental health.

Primary care pediatric NPs promote health and well-being and manage common acute and chronic pediatric physical, behavioral and mental health conditions across a variety of clinical settings.

GPA: Preferential admissions consideration will be given to applicants with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Earned bachelor of science in nursing from an accredited Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education School of Nursing, or an earned associate's degree in nursing from an accredited school in addition to a bachelor's degree in any field.

Licensure: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state in which practice will occur.
