Overview
Our faculty brings diverse styles of writing together through workshops and lectures, and students are exposed to many different voices. Students may choose their mentors, and the program focuses on an individualized curriculum and instruction.
To help our students with the publishing process, we invite editors, literary agents, and other publishing professionals to the residencies. Most of our students publish in literary magazines while still enrolled in the program, and many of our alumni have published books.
Mission
The Creative Writing - Poetry programme from Fairleigh Dickinson University is a low-residency program in which students work closely with published authors who serve as their mentors and teachers. The program is arranged into 8-week online modules and 10-day on-campus residencies, in the summer session at FDU’s Madison, New Jersey campus and in the winter session at FDU’s Wroxton, England campus.
