Overview
The purpose of the Construction Management program of New England Institute of Technology is to educate and train the next generation of construction industry professionals in a broad array of technical and non-technical competencies required for the successful management and administration of construction operations.
Students will study topics ranging from lean construction, risk management, and construction delivery methods to finance, risk management, negotiations, and leadership. An optional technical elective is also available introducing the latest Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies.
Program Outcomes
- Acquire a Construction Management perspective that is informed by the linkages between Construction and Management (i.e., ethics, labor, accounting & finance, dispute resolution, negotiations) best practices
- Demonstrate the ability to build and lead effective teams using appropriate interpersonal skills
- Proactively adopt and integrate emerging technology within Construction Management practices
- Evaluate and implement appropriate contract delivery methods based on desired project outcomes
- Analyze construction projects relative to fundamental aspects of construction management (i.e., cost, schedule, quality, safety, ethics) and develop appropriate solutions
- Acquire ability to effectively assess and manage risk in a construction management project
- Acquire an appreciation for and ability to apply the principles and practices of sustainability in a construction management project

General requirements
A candidate for admission to the Construction Management (MS) program must have the following:
- An undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch. or B.S.), Architectural Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Interior Design, Construction Management, Planning, Business, Finance, Management or a degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (out of 4.0) in an appropriate bachelor’s degree program.
- A personal statement that describes how obtaining a graduate degree from New England Institute of Technology will enable you to meet your personal goals as a professional in construction management.
