Why Study Social Work MSW at Madonna University?

  • Many students can earn their MSW degree in just one year
  • The MSW program is one of the only programs of its kind in the state of Michigan
  • Madonna’s emphasis on community involvement and compassion supports student goals and initiatives
  • Instructors support students with assistance for internship and job opportunities
  • There are many clinical and non-clinical professional roles that benefit from this degree

If you have a Bachelor’s of Social Work, generally you can complete the graduate degree at Madonna in one year. A degree in the MSW program requires just 30 credit hours.

You can select from one of three clinical areas of concentration: aging, children/youth and mental health areas. Conversely you can select a “macro” concentration that promotes skills in community leadership. The accreditation process for the Madonna MSW program has already begun.

You can also benefit from direct assistance provided by instructors that can secure opportunities for the necessary field work in internship or part-time settings away from the classroom. The Franciscan values of compassion and community also are featured elements of this degree program.

The need for experienced, qualified social workers like you will remain high as the Baby Boomer population ages, and specialized programs for at-risk or at-need residents increase.
