According to the World Health Organization, “Health Promotion offered by Concord University is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behavior towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions.” 

Overview

Students who graduate from the M.A. in Health Promotion program at Concord University will be prepared and qualified to take the Certified Health Education Specialist Examination in order to obtain the CHES credential.  The CHES designation is an indication of professional competency and commitment to ongoing professional growth and development (through the CHES CEU process).  CHES exam eligibility is based solely on academic qualifications. 

 To be eligible for the CHES examination, an individual must hold a bachelors, masters or doctorate (from an accredited institution of higher education) in the field of health education and/or health promotion.

  • Provide official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions (with the exception of Concord University).
  • Provide two (2) general letters of recommendation
