For those individuals seeking rewarding careers in public accounting, industry and government, the Master of Accounting program at Louisiana Tech University is designed to provide the graduate-level education necessary to excel in the field of accounting. 

Overview

We’re proud that our program AACSB Accounting Accreditationis one of only two programs in Louisiana to hold a secondary accreditation from AACSB International. 

MAcc courses integrate a broad range of problem-solving and management skills, and emphasize understanding in functional business core to strengthen comprehension of both accounting and business. 

The program in Accounting from the Louisiana Tech University also further develops our students’ ability to critically appraise accounting practices. Through the MAcc, students complete the 30 hours needed to sit for the CPA exam in an efficient manner with personalized attention.

Career Paths

  • We have numerous graduates who are Partners with “Big Four” and regional accounting firms, others who have succeeded in businesses of their own, and many who are presidents, chief executive officers, vice presidents, chief financial officers or in other key executive positions in large corporations. 
  • We have also placed graduates in government careers such as the FBI, IRS and other state and national agencies.

GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

  • Complete the Application for Admission and return with the appropriate application fee.
  • Submit official transcripts of all prior college work demonstrating sufficient scholastic performance that qualifies the applicant to perform successfully in a master’s or doctoral program. (For doctoral admission, more emphasis is placed on an applicant’s graduate record than on the applicant’s undergraduate record).
  • Submit a satisfactory current score on the Graduate Management Admission Test.
