Overview
At Concordia University Wisconsin, they equip their graduates with both the skillset and confidence to excel in the top tier of nursing. Their knowledgeable faculty are here to assist you every step of the way, and our accelerated format allows you to finish your nurse practitioner degree faster.
From daily interaction with like-minded students and nursing professionals to dedicated instruction on how to blend your calling with your career, Concordia’s online MSN in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner will challenge you and advance your knowledge in areas such as health policy, advanced pathophysiology and pharmacology, and evidence-based practice, just to name a few.
What to expect
Choose between our Master of Science in nursing or our Post-BSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice programs in order to advance your career and become a nurse practitioner in a primary care setting. Your academic advisor will work with you to create a personalized progression plan after you’ve applied and been accepted. Students are required to attend a one-day, face-to-face orientation at the beginning of the program.
The orientation is an important aspect of our program allowing you to network, meet your instructors, and meet the nursing cohort you’ll be working alongside throughout the program. The subsequent courses are entirely online in either an 8- or 16-week format. Click on the “Progression Plans” tab above to see examples of our full- and part-time course projection options.
MSN students are required to complete 720 hours of clinical hours within a primary-care clinic setting. If your current employer meets Concordia’s credential requirements, you may complete your practicum where you work. We do have a review process for clinical site placements, but ultimately students are responsible for finding their own preceptors.
