Overview

The mission of the Master's in Exercise & Sport Science is to provide students with up to date knowledge, skills, and abilities to pursue careers whereby they demonstrate best-practices, sound ethical decision making, and advocacy skills for helping individuals improve performance and pursue healthy lifestyle behaviors across the lifespan.

Students can become a clinical professional with ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification, pursuing a career helping clients with (or at high risk for) cardiovascular, pulmonary, and metabolic diseases. An ACSM Exercise Specialist is a health care professional with a bachelor’s degree who typically works in cardiovascular/pulmonary rehabilitation programs, physicians’ offices, or medical fitness centers. The ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist may also provide exercise-related consulting for research, public health, and other clinical and non-clinical services and programs.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
