Overview

Students take the same foundational courses they would receive on campus, plus innovative courses designed to prepare them for teaching, preaching, and other ministries in the local church. All courses are designed and taught by Cairn professors, who bring their scholarly expertise and ministry experience to bear.

Program Highlights:

  • Prepare to serve in a preaching or teaching role.
  • Develop the skills to examine the biblical text and theology in relationship with the realities of everyday life and ministry.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.5

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Submit the Graduate Application for Admission (either online or print), along with a $25 non-refundable application fee.
  • Submit the following essays: Spiritual Statement: Describe your conversion to Christ, spiritual growth, and church involvement.; Statement of Purpose: Describe your reasons for pursuing graduate studies in this field at this time. Please explain your current employment situation and your long-term goals.

  • Submit official academic transcript(s) for all conferred degrees. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, or seminary, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher. 

  • Submit an Academic/Professional Reference and a Pastoral Reference.
