The low-residency Creative Writing program at Queens University of Charlotte is expressly designed to meet both of those demands.

Applicants are required to submit a one page, single-spaced personal statement, which speaks to what you expect to gain from the program and what you hope to contribute to it.

Applicants are required to submit one letter of recommendation. The recommendation should be from an academic or professional contact who can address your intellectual capacity, skillset, abilities, and readiness for graduate school.

Applicants are required to submit a writing sample for each genre applying for. Please submit one document per genre, regardless of the number of individual pieces included in the sample for that genre. Pages should be numbered and the applicant’s name, the title, and genre of the piece should appear in the header or footer of each page.
Official paper transcripts must be in a sealed envelope and mailed directly from the college or university you attended.
