The Master of Architecture Program from Thomas Jefferson University is a first-professional graduate program designed to prepare students for professional architectural practice through the development of sustainable design and technology skills, knowledge of project management, and collaborative experiences in an interdisciplinary environment.

Overview

The program is located within easy access to Center City Philadelphia with its rich collection of major historical and contemporary buildings. Philadelphia also provides an ongoing laboratory for many of our courses and opportunities for internships.

The Architecture Program at Thomas Jefferson University offers multiple starting tracks. Your track will be individually decided based on your level of preparedness.

  • Personal Statement: Submit a statement of purpose outlining your interest in the program, how the course of study relates to your desired career path, and your academic and job-related experiences that are relevant to the program.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters of reference that provide insight into your academic competence. 
  • Résumé: A current professional résumé is required.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio of creative and/or professional work in architecture, the visual arts, and/or design is required as part of your application for graduate study in the Master of Architecture program.
