Overview

Students enrolled in the MA program in Political Science at Eastern Illinois University have two options, both taught by full-time Political Science faculty, committed to building relationships with students to develop their research and writing skills.

We offer a full range of courses so that students can complete their M.A. in two semesters and one summer. Students who require a different pace can take just one course per semester--the choice is up to the student! This is the ideal program for international students, who are allowed to take only one online course per semester.

Students in this option can also mix and match their degree program, taking electives that are online, or taking public administration electives to enhance their professional skills. Full time enrolled students are also eligible for graduate assistantships.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
