General requirements

Applicants to the ISAT program must have completed an undergraduate degree program and have had at least 30 semester hours in any combination of chemistry, computer science, industrial technology, mathematics, or physics. In addition, applicants to the ISAT program must have at least one of the following four items:
a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0;
solid evidence of significant research work experience;
at least one year of professional work experience; or
a combined Verbal and Quantitative Score on the Graduate Record Exam of at least 280.
A letter of introduction stating the applicant’s research background, their ideas for research to perform during the ISAT program, and their plans to extend their work in the ISAT program to future endeavors.
Three (3) letters of recommendation. At least one of these three letters should attest
to the applicant’s research abilities.
Transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate work.
